For several years now, one of the annual service projects of The Alamo PDK has been to operate the One-Room Schoolhouse located on the grounds of the Institute of Texan Cultures during the Texas Folklife Festival.
The festival takes place over four days in early June of each year. During the event, performances and demonstrations teach participants of the many wonderful contributions given to our Texan culture by the diverse people who inhabit our great state. At the One-Room Schoolhouse, visitors learn what public education was like at the turn of the twentieth century. |
